Who will be taking my portraits at Image? That's the best part. At Image Projections you always know who will be creating your portraits. Our photographer is Carol Nichols. She had studied with many of the top master photographers in the country participating in workshops and seminars. Carol attended the Great Lakes Institute of Photography, a graduate of Northwestern Michigan College and is a member of the Michigan Triangle Professional Photographers Association, and the Professional Photographers of America. How soon should I schedule my senior portraits? At the absolute latest, senior portraits should be scheduled about eight weeks prior to your schools yearbook deadline. Keep in mind, we can get a yearbook photo faster than that (sometimes even in less than a week), but it will usually slow down the rest of your order and could cost some extra cash. Another factor to consider is that the best deals and are usually earlier in the summer. What about my yearbook photo? We'll take a yearbook photo that will comply with all the requirements of your school yearbook. Some schools send out letters telling students to go to a particular studio to meet the requirements of the yearbook. Remember, senior portraits are all about you. You need to decide where to go for portraits. We meet all yearbook specifications...and guarantee it! Most seniors are in the studio about an hour. During this time, we can photograph about three to four different outfits in that time. If you have an outdoor session scheduled, figure an additional 30 - 60 minutes.
The choice is yours. With our new outfit based session structure you can wear as many as you like, or, your parents are willing to pay for. Each outfit change is $20 and you'll get about five additional poses to choose from. If youre scheduled for both a studio and an outdoor session and its raining, come anyway. Well still do the studio portion of your portraits then reschedule the outdoor only portion.
We want you to schedule you session at a time when you'll be refreshed and looking good. It's sometimes difficult for seniors to work or have sports practice, get cleaned up, then be ready for portraits. It's best to schedule on a day when you won't be rushed. If you have an outdoor session,
we'll want to have you session time at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
That's the best time to get the most flattering images. What days can I get photographed? We schedule sessions Tuesday through Friday from about 10AM until 5 PM. We're unable to offer senior sessions on Saturday's because of wedding schedules. We make a unique digital preview book featuring images from your session. This preview book contains pricing information, order forms, additional options and samples of digital products offered. When you schedule your session we will ask for a $100 deposit at that time. You can give us a credit card right over the phone, drop a check in the mail of drop it off at the studio. This deposit reserves your studio time. Your appointment is not actually confirmed until we receive your deposit. The charges for your Styles (session fees) will be deducted from the deposit and the balance will be applied to your finished order. When you come to look at your images, an additional deposit of $150 is required if you wish to take the digital preview book out of the studio to make your selections. This amount applies to the finished order if the book is returned with seven days. At the time you place your finished order, an order deposit equal to 50% of your outstanding balance is due. The balance is due when you pickup your completed portraits. We accept cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard and Discover for all transactions.
How long before I can see my images? At the time of your session we will schedule a preview pickup appointment. This appointment is usually about a week after your session.
Who should come to the preview pickup appointment? Both you and at least one of your parents need to attend the preview pickup appointment. During this session we will explain the process for selecting and ordering your portraits, picking your yearbook and composite photos and helping you get the best value in your portraits. We will show you your images on our large screen digital projection system so you can see the actual portrait sizes. We can even so you what an image will looked like framed on the wall. If you choose to take your preview book from the studio, a parent or guardian must sign the preview release form.
What if I wear glasses? If you normally wear glasses, its probably a good idea to wear the glasses in your portraits. The glasses will have glare and possibly cause some distortion. The best thing to do is visit your optometrist and borrow a pair of empty frames. In some cases we can remove the lenses for you at the studio. If you do get photographed with your lenses and wish to have the glare removed, our digital retouchers can remove the glare for $25 per pose.
Should I have my orthodontist remove my braces for the portrait? With digital retouching, were a lot cheaper that the orthodontist. We can digitally remove your braces for about $40 per pose. Not a problem. With seniors at least a two-outfit session we'll take a couple of buddy shots at no additional charge. We have better than packages. With our
Create-a-Collection,
you can purchase exactly what you need at package prices. How do I schedule my appointment? It's easy, just call the studio at 517-627-2159. We'll help you right through the process. Be sure to talk to your parents and make sure the time is good for them too. We think it's great if your parents come along. Remember, you'll need to place a $100 deposit when you schedule your time. We can take a credit card over the phone or you can mail or drop off a check in the next couple of days.
